Nathan D. Koch promoted to President of American Bank and Trust Company, N.A., and Director of AmBank Holdings, Inc.

DAVENPORT, IA – Harry S. Coin, chairman & chief executive officer of AmBank Holdings, Inc., the parent company of American Bank and Trust Company, N.A., announced recently that Nathan D. Koch of Iowa City has been promoted to president of American Bank and Trust Company, N.A., and elected as a director of AmBank Holdings, Inc.

Mr. Coin stated that Mr. Koch’s promotion is part of the evolution and implementation of the Bank’s long-term strategic plan. "Over the past eight years, I’ve been honored to serve the Company as chairman, president and chief executive. I’m proud to report that we currently maintain the strongest capital position in our history," Mr. Coin said. "At the same time, as a growing company operating in three distinct markets, it’s not possible for me to allocate the time, energy and attention to each position that’s necessary. Nathan has emerged from our very capable management team as a logical selection and successor as Company president. He successfully founded our Coralville and Iowa City offices three years ago and he has provided oversight for various departments of the Bank over the past two years, including retail, operations, trust and investment brokerage. This transition will allow me to prioritize and concentrate on additional strategic planning projects, increased client contact and business development opportunities in all three markets while entrusting Nathan with the day-to-day operations of the Bank."

An Iowa native, Mr. Koch is a graduate of the University of Iowa and the University of Iowa’s College of Law. He is eager to perform in his new role and he is also excited about the Company’s future. "Assisting various departments during my tenure at American Bank has allowed me the opportunity to work with our clients, develop financial solutions and understand the unique challenges of our industry. Our brand and franchise are desirable and I look forward with confidence to continued growth opportunities in the Quad Cities as well as in our other service markets," Mr. Koch said. He can be reached by telephone at (877) 626-2265 or via e-mail at nkoch@ambankqc.com.

Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2008, American Bank and Trust Company, N.A., is a $670 million, full-service financial institution offering personal, private, mortgage & commercial banking, trust, insurance and investment solutions with 14 branch locations and 22 ATMs in the Quad Cities, Coralville and Iowa City, Iowa and Kane County, Illinois.
