Hannah Woodstock selected as 2008 recipient of the
Stanley H. Coin $2,500 Business Scholarship
DAVENPORT, IA – The board of directors of AmBank Holdings, Inc., parent company of American Bank and Trust Company, N.A., believes in the value of education and therefore is proud to award the 2008 Stanley H. Coin Business Scholarship to Hannah Woodstock, a 2008 graduate of Rock Island High School.
Hannah is the daughter of Rock and Susanne Woodstock. She will attend Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts in the fall and plans to major in political science. Her academic and extra-curricular accomplishments to date are numerous including memberships and participation in the Rock Island High School National Honor Society, student senate, varsity academic team, Spanish club, letterman’s club and the varsity soccer program. Her social and community involvement includes the Student Hunger Drive and the Sunset Park Beach Clean Up, an independent project in which over 180 pounds of broken glass was removed. In 2008, Hannah was also a recipient of the Illinois Quad City Area Chamber of Commerce Academic Achievement Award for science, the Community Caring Conference "Community Caring" Award, the National Merit Commended Student award and she was selected on the academic all Western Big Six Conference team for soccer.
The Stanley H. Coin Business Scholarship was established in 2002 by the AmBank Holdings, Inc., board of directors to honor Mr. Coin, founder and retired chairman of American Bank and Trust Company, in recognition of his 30 years of service. The $2,500 Scholarship is offered through the Rock Island/Milan Education Foundation and is awarded each year to a graduating Rock Island High School student who is in good academic standing, plans to study business in college, demonstrates community involvement and activity, and is in need of financial assistance for secondary education.
