American Bank & Trust
reports record 2004 profits and new growth.
American Bank & Trust reported record 2004 profits and new
growth at its 38th Annual Meeting held Thursday, May 25th, 2005
at the Abbey Hotel in Bettendorf, IA. During fiscal 2004, American
Bank & Trust’s seven stand alone branches, trust and
financial services operations, and mortgage offices, all contributed
significantly to earnings and profitability. Record highs were
achieved in income, loans, and total assets. Net income of $4,104,000
increased for the 5th consecutive year. Total assets grew 5.19%
to approximately $466 million.
Mr. Harry S. Coin, Bank Chairman-President-CEO, stated, “We
were able to grow our loan portfolio by almost 16% and at the
same time keep loan quality intact with net loan losses of $84
thousand, well below the industry standard. Our mortgage operations
closed over $110 million in new mortgages. We are very excited
to announce that American Bank & Trust now offers our clients
the option to apply and get approved for a mortgage on-line at
www.ambankqc.com.”
Mr. Coin continued to say that, “The past 18 months have
seen significant changes to our infrastructure, enabling us to
implement our strategic vision for the future. Part of the vision,
is the establishment of a stronger retail branch network which
will empower our team with the tools to deliver our already exceptional
service to an expanded market area. In 2005, American Bank &
Trust will open six new banking facilities in Milan, IL; East
Moline, IL; Moline, IL; Coralville, IA; Elburn, IL; and Batavia,
IL. Our team has made the commitment to take American Bank &
Trust to the next level and beyond.”
During 2004, the bank acquired an attractive location in Coralville,
Iowa. Construction of a 7,500 square foot banking facility has
begun with an opening scheduled for later this summer. American
Bank was also awarded six in-store branches in 2004, of which
two have opened: the Milan Hy-Vee and East Moline, Jewel-Osco.
Harry commented, “Offering an in-store branch is another
way both the financial institution and the retail store can provide
convenient 7 day a week ‘one-stop’ shopping service.”
Both branches are currently performing ahead of schedule.
Mr. Coin thanked the management team and American Bank &
Trust associates for their commitment to the strategic vision.
He added, “I would also like to thank our Directors for
their guidance and support as the demands have increased through
corporate governance rules and regulations. Finally, I would like
to thank our loyal customers and shareholders. We appreciate the
opportunity to serve our clients and the continued confidence
our shareholders have in our abilities.”
